Chapter History
Kaniengehaga Lodge 420 of The Order of the Arrow was chartered in 1949 in Licking County Council, Newark Ohio.
Kaniengehaga translates to People of the Place of Flint.
The Lodge totem was the Peace Pipe.
In 1987 when Licking County Council was absorbed in Central Ohio Council, Kaniengehage Lodge 420 was absorbed by Katinonkwat Lodge 93 and became a chapter (Crew 4420) within Katinonkwat.
Katinonkwat translates to Heart's Desire (Heron).
The Lodge totem was the Thunderbird.
Central Ohio Council, Scioto Area Council and Chief Logan Council merged in 1994 and formed Simon Kenton Council.
In 1996 Katinonkwat Lodge 93 (Central Ohio Council) merged with Shawnee Lodge 109 (Scioto Area Council) and Maka-Ina Lodge 350 (Chief Logan Council) to form Tecumseh Lodge 65.
The Lodge totem is Chief Tecumseh and the Panther.
Kaniengehaga Chapter (Crew 4420) was now part of Tecumseh 65 Lodge.
In 2022, Simon Kenton Council redistricted
and went from 11 District to 4 districts.
With the redistricting, Kaniengehaga Chapter merged with Chief Tarhee Chapter and Katinonkwat Chapter to form Ahsenike Chapter.
Ahsenike translates to People Among the Rocks or A Rocky Place
